Cecil Swim Team Head Coach

• Elkton, MD, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00Hourly, Job Shift: Evening, Job Category: Swim Team Coaches, Head Swim Coach Position Summary: Provides direct leadership, management, instruction and motivation for the swim team program. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere for the swim team and for YMCA.

Essential Functions

Builds effective, authentic relationships with athletes and parents. Planning, implementing, scheduling and evaluating all groups of swim team Prepare and lead coaching philosophy of the team through use of lesson plans and training/mentoring of assistant coaches Effective communication Responds appropriately and proactively to parent, athlete, members and staff/volunteer concerns Maintains records as required Maintain positive working relationships with fellow staff, parents, athletes and members of all ages and backgrounds.

Provides leadership within the aquatic department Remains current in the field through certifications and trainings Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool, aquatic areas and the Y. Other duties as assigned Physical Demands: Ability to occasionally lift equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs Employee frequently is required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, stand, walk Practice and Meet environment for multiple hours - loud, standing/sitting in an aquatic environment Qualifications: Qualifications: At least 18 years of age Certifications: CPR/AED & First Aid, Must be able to instruct proper stroke techniques Strong communication skills - written and verbal 2 or more years of swim coaching experience preferred Passion for swimming
