Purchasing Manager

Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic and international suppliers for core mattress materials including foam, coil/spring systems, fabric ticking, fire barriers, adhesives, edge guards, and packaging materials. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; conduct regular performance reviews based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service metrics.

Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements; achieve annual cost-reduction targets. Inventory & Supply Planning: Collaborate with production and operations teams to forecast material demand, maintain optimal inventory levels, and prevent supply disruptions.

Purchase Order Management: Oversee the full PO lifecycle — creation, tracking, receipt, and reconciliation — ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Quality Assurance: Partner with the QA team to ensure incoming materials meet product specifications, regulatory standards (e.g., CertiPUR-US, GREENGUARD), and company quality benchmarks.

Cost Management: Monitor market trends in raw material pricing (e.g., polyurethane foam, steel wire, fabric) and proactively manage cost exposure through strategic purchasing decisions. Risk Mitigation: Identify supply chain vulnerabilities and develop contingency plans including dual-sourcing strategies and safety stock programs.

Sustainability: Support company sustainability initiatives by seeking eco-friendly, recycled, or responsibly sourced materials where feasible. Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of buyers and procurement coordinators, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.

Reporting: Provide regular reporting on purchasing KPIs, cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory status to senior leadership.
