• Thursday, Position Type: Full-Time (Exempt) Direct Supervisor: Family Pastor Position Summary Provide pastoral leadership, vision, and oversight to all efforts aimed at reaching college students and helping them leverage who they are and what they’ve been given for the sake of the gospel, wherever they are and wherever God takes them. Candidate Profile Passionate about discipling and reaching college students Energized by casting vision, teaching, and leading students and volunteers Highly relational with various types of students Strong organizational skills and personal initiative Self-aware, humble, and teachable Clear calling to local church ministry Bachelor’s degree completed Key Responsibilities Set the overall vision and direction for Shades College ministry Lead by example in personal discipleship, disciple-making, and evangelism Build meaningful relationships with college students while providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance. Shepherd students through regular time on campus and one-on-one meetings Champion a sending culture and build a clear pathway for discipleship and mobilization Lead College Worship, including worship planning and sermon series development in collaboration with college and worship staff Oversee ministry initiatives for ongoing discipleship Partner with other church ministry areas to connect students in service and foster an intergenerational church experience Strengthen relationships with Birmingham-area campuses and campus ministries Develop and shepherd college staff and volunteer leaders, cultivating strong leadership pipelines Regularly evaluate ministry effectiveness and manage the college ministry budget Support the broader mission of the church by embracing the mission, values, and ministry strategy of Shades and assisting with church-wide initiatives as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned that may benefit the church.
