Communication Systems Operator (PRN Alternating)

Franciscan Health Michigan City Campus 3500 Franciscan Way Michigan City, Indiana 46360 The Communication Systems Operator answers calls in a timely fashion and courteously transfers callers to their requested destination. This position is responsible for calmly announcing and accurately notifying necessary personnel in all internal and external emergencies.

The Communication Systems Operator knows the purpose, processes, and procedures for all emergency events. The operator possesses a thorough knowledge of all switchboard and telecommunications control room equipment as well as the ability to problem solve. This position supports the department by demonstrating flexibility in work assignments and supports the facility through teamwork and collaboration.

Maintain appropriate documentations of all telecommunications processes. Provide general hospital and patient information, answering calls in a friendly and courteous manner.

Put proper emergency plans into action. Attend related meetings and maintain mandated hospital training assignments. Assist in generating and understanding reports with other departments as needed. Answer and dispatch security calls. The Alternating shift includes Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS
