Job Title: Marine Coach

Location: Onshore Angola

Job Description:

Role Purpose

The Marine Coach supports the Marine Superintendent/Supervisor in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all marine activities and systems onboard the FPSO. The role combines hands-on technical execution with coaching, mentoring, and competency development of marine personnel.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the OIM and works closely with the Marine Operators, Deck Crew, Maintenance Team and HSE personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Marine Superintendent in managing SIMOPS Support daily marine operations including cargo, ballast, bunkering and offloading activities. Monitor marine systems and verify compliance with approved operating procedures. Conduct inspections and basic troubleshooting of marine equipment and systems. Support maintenance planning and execution for marine systems. Monitor ballast systems, cargo systems, marine pumps, mooring equipment, navigation equipment and communications systems. Identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions through the maintenance management system. Provide structured onboard coaching and mentoring to marine personnel. Conduct competency assessments and support development plans. Promote compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, Class, and Angolan requirements. Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety meetings. Conduct marine assurance inspections and audits. Participate in emergency drills and provide support during marine emergencies. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. Authority

Stop any job considered unsafe. Escalate safety or operational concerns directly to the Marine Superintendent or OIM. Recommend competency sign-off and training requirements. Recommend corrective actions for marine operational deficiencies. Key Performance Indicators

Marine safety performance. Completion of inspections and assurance activities. Closure of marine action items. Training and coaching hours delivered. Competency assessments completed. Marine system reliability and uptime.

What are we looking for?

Education

Chief Mate (Chief Officer) CoC → STCW II/2

Experience: 5 years in a supervisory or senior leadership role onboard ship or on an Offshore Installation

Languages: English Language skills required
