As the Community Social Worker, you will be responsible for coordinating supportive services for older adults in one of the many communities that PSS serves.
The driver’s role is vital in ensuring that transportation is provided to allow our members to remain mobile and engaged in their communities. This is a part-time non-exempt position that reports directly to the Catering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pickup meals and items to and from PSS various centers. Responsible the safe transportation of PSS property. Keep and maintain and clean/ sanitary vehicle. Bring meals and necessary items inside PSS various centers. Assist in the packaging of meals. Assist in providing janitorial services at our catering facility, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dishes and stocking of items.
Providing and collecting necessary paperwork across PSS various centers. Complete and provide mileage log and timesheets to supervisor. Assist with programming as needed. Comply with PSS Personnel Policy & DFTA Regulations. Attend Supervision and Team Meetings when applicable. Communicate with supervisor and other staff in a timely fashion and meet all required deadlines.
Actively pursue and take full advantage of opportunities for professional growth and development. Follow and subscribe to professional development resources (i.e. e-newsletters, professional social media, national aging websites, etc.) Additional duties as directed by Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma Experience working with Older Adults preferred Excellent Interpersonal Skills A valid NYS Driver’s License Three years driving experience Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) desirable PROFESSIONALISM AND OTHER QUALITIES: Ability to work well independently and on a team Maturity and good judgment in relating to peers, partners, and families Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds Availability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically EEOC and DEI Statement: At PSS we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected status.
