Med/Surg RN Nurse Leader

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Med/Surg RN Nurse Leader to provide clinical leadership and operational support for our Medical/Surgical Department. This role combines direct patient care responsibilities with leadership functions, allowing you to influence patient outcomes, support team development, and advance quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

• Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and coach for nursing staff.
• Support complex patient care decisions and clinical problem-solving.
• Promote evidence-based practice and high standards of patient care.
• Foster a collaborative culture focused on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Department Operations

• Lead daily huddles and communicate operational priorities.
• Support patient flow and efficient department operations.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to address staffing and workflow needs.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

Quality & Compliance

• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Support regulatory compliance and quality initiatives.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Provide education and coaching related to documentation and quality standards.

Staff Development

• Coordinate onboarding and orientation of new team members.
• Support competency validation and ongoing staff education.
• Partner with preceptors and leaders to promote professional growth and engagement.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, and other departments.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings.
• Facilitate effective communication and continuity of care.

Care Coordination & Telehealth

• Assist with patient care transitions and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with internal and community resources to support patient needs.
• Support telehealth services and promote access to care through virtual healthcare solutions.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Preferred

• Three or more years of acute care nursing experience.
• Previous experience as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Nurse Leader.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop nursing staff.
• Knowledge of quality, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare technology.
