Job description

Key Responsibilities

Technical Assessments & Audits

  • Lead and supervise industrial audits related to:
  • Energy efficiency
  • Water consumption and water balance
  • Chemical management
  • Material/resource efficiency
  • Renewable energy opportunities
  • Conduct walkthrough and detailed sustainability assessments for MSMEs.
  • Prepare technical audit reports with practical recommendations considering low to high investment as well as linking with available Green Financing schemes, savings potential, and technology adoption pathways.
  • Support baseline studies, data collection, monitoring, and reporting requirements. MSME & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain close one-to-one interactions with MSMEs for handholding support and sustainability adoption.
  • Coordinate with BMOs, industry associations, technology providers, and local stakeholders.
  • Facilitate industry consultations, FGDs, workshops, exposure visits, and awareness campaigns.
  • Support stakeholder mobilization and participation in cluster activities. Renewable Energy & Technology Promotion:
  • Identify suitable technologies related to: o Solarization o Waste heat recovery o Efficient motors/pumps o Water recycling o Cleaner production systems
  • Liaise with technology suppliers, OEMs, consultants, and technical experts.
  • Promote adoption of innovative and low-carbon technologies among cluster industries. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
  • Lead and guide field teams and technical associates across clusters.
  • Provide internal technical capacity building and mentoring to project staff.
  • Coordinate with consortium partners and external experts for implementation support. Reporting & Documentation
  • Develop technical presentations, case studies, workshop materials, and success stories.
  • Ensure proper documentation of field activities, audit findings, and project outcomes.
  • Support donor reporting and achievement tracking against project indicators/log frame. Desired Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Energy/Environmental) or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Energy Management, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Energy Auditor/Manager or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of relevant experience in: o Industrial energy audits o Water/resource efficiency o Sustainability implementation o Renewable energy o Cluster/MSME development
  • Experience in textile/paper/process industries preferred.
  • Prior experience with donor-funded projects, BEE, MSME sector, or sustainability initiatives will be an advantage.

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial utilities and sustainability systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Team leadership and project coordination capability.
  • Technical report writing and analytical skills. Ability to travel extensively across project clusters.
