Mental Health Worker

Mental Health Worker Department: North 7 Hours: 24.00 per week Shift: Evenings Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend Position Summary The Mental Health Worker is an integral member of the behavioral health team aimed at maintaining patient safety and participating in therapeutic interventions for a diverse group of behavioral health patients.

Essential Duties

& Responsibilities Under General Supervision the Mental Health Worker will; Build therapeutic relationships with patients Demonstrates effective use of verbal de-escalation skills Observes patients to ensure patient safety including sitting one to one with patients. Records patient behaviors and activity Utilizes individualized activities to assist with patient satisfaction and recovery appropriate for behavioral health patients Assists nursing staff with maintaining a therapeutic milieu Maintains compassion and patience in challenging situations.

Responds to and assists with the management of emergency situations Completes vital signs and assists with ADLs and other direct patient care needs as directed. Maintains open communication and collaborates with all members of the treatment team in the implementation of the patient’s plan of care Adheres to all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation) Adheres to all Absolutes (Privacy and Confidentiality, Professional Appearance, and Responsibility and Commitment) Other job related duties as assigned Minimum Education and Experience: 1 year in a mental health setting (internal PCT eligible with at least 1 years of experience are eligible to train for the Mental Health Worker) Minimum Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent Certification/Credentials: CNA certification Preferred Education: Associates degree in a mental health related field Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Knowledge of of mental health disorders and treatment modalities Responds calmly and effectively to challenging situation Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication skills Comprehensive Benefits Offered Competitive benefits package Shift Differentials Continuing Education assistance Tuition reimbursement Student Loan relief Long-term Disability Life insurance Family medical leave Compensation Range: $20.

71 to $31.07 Note: The compensation range(s)above are a good faith representation of the base pay rates for all positions at a given grade across the organization.
