Attorney-Advisor (General)

There is an anticipated vacancy for the position of ATTORNEY-ADVISOR (GENERAL) in the LEGAL ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT of RLSO SE JACKSONVILLE.

THE DESIRABLE APPLICANT MUST: A. Be a U.S. citizen. B. The applicant must be an active member in good standing of the bar of the state in the location being advertised, admitted to practice before the highest court in the state of the location being advertised, and shall be admitted to practice before the United States District Court within (3) months of hiring.

C. The applicant shall possess at least two (2) years of demonstrated litigation experience in family law/intimate partner domestic abuse matters. Incumbents should have a strong interest to practice family law with an emphasis on domestic violence restraining/protective orders. An incumbent with experience working with clients who demonstrate signs of trauma and mental health challenges is highly desirable.

D. Familiarity with the United States Navy. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

The successful applicant must have graduated with a J.D. or LL.M. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a state or federal court.
