• Wallingford, CT, Salary Range: $78980.70 - $109544.49Salary, Orafol America's is seeking a Converting Supervisor for our Wallingford, CT location. This role is typically a Monday-Friday role with occasional weekends as business needs merit. Starting rate is $38.00 hr and up commensurate with experiance. The Converting Supervisor is responsible for managing all Converting Department activities. This position reports to the Planning & Scheduling Manager. The Converting Supervisor is responsible for managing the completion of Converting Orders in a timely manner by publishing and maintaining a Converting Schedule. Must have an understanding of all functions required, and experience in operating all equipment in the department. Responsible to track and document PMs for all equipment. The Converting Supervisor will coordinate the collection of production data and properly publish metrics summarizing the performance of the Department. Must have the ability to produce Work Orders as needed. Responsible for planning and producing work orders for Radel fulfillment and saw cutting.

Essential functions

Safe operation of all Orafol manufacturing equipment. Certified to drive and operate Orafol Fork Trucks within the Plant. Be able to navigate Orafol Inventory systems, and produce Work Orders as needed. Be able to read and understand department and inter-department paperwork such as Converting Orders, Specifications, Work Instructions, and Transfers etc.

Supervise and direct all Converting Department Personnel in order to ensure proper execution of the Production Schedule. Ensure that all Converting Department Technicians are trained to do their job in a safe and professional manner. Assure that finished product meets or exceeds Quality Standards. Regularly communicate details, as required, to the Converting Technicians in order to ensure that we produce products that meet or exceed our product specification and order documentation requirements.

Promptly provide technical support to the Converting Department Technicians. additional responsibilities Initiate, validate and document production improvement programs. Initiate, validate and document cost reduction programs. Execute and support R & D trials. Inventory, track usage and initiate Purchase Requisitions for Departmental supplies.

Ensure that production area is maintained in a clean and organized fashion. Conduct Performance Reviews of subordinates. Utilize resources in a way that minimizes cost and maximizes productivity. Perform duties and responsibilities with a sense of purpose, professionalism and attention to detail. Foster safe work practices.

Promote a team environment. Complete special projects and assignments that are not specific to this outline but as required and directed by supervisor Qualifications: . POSITION requirements Education Requirements: AS and/or BS Degree in a Technical Discipline Other: Individuals without a degree can be considered if their work experience and qualifications match the content of this job description.

Work Experience: Previous industrial manufacturing experience preferred. Converting Supervisor is expected to be prepared to do their job function, and at their workstation by the beginning of the shift. The Converting Supervisor is expected to have minimum unplanned absences, as defined by the "Employee Attendance Expectations". The Converting Supervisor must maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
