Corporate Finance Director
Job description
Translink Corporate Finance is a cross-border mid-market M&A advisory firm and part of the Translink Group. We advise the owners of private, typically owner-managed but some private equity owned businesses on sales, acquisitions and capital raising, with a focus on running a disciplined process and delivering the best available outcome for shareholders.
We are building out our London presence. The team draws on the wider resources of the Group, including its international buyer relationships and cross-border execution capability, while keeping the senior access and accountability of a boutique. The Role This is a senior, hands-on Director appointment with full ownership of live mandates.
You will lead sell-side processes from pitch to completion, hold the primary relationship with business owners and their advisers, and support the Partners to build pipeline. You will also help shape how the London execution team is built and run, in a role where your commercial contribution is visible and rewarded directly.
What You Will Do
- Lead mandates end to end: own valuation, positioning, the information memorandum, buyer strategy and outreach, negotiation, and the path through due diligence and SPA to completion
- Originate and win work: over time, build and convert your own pipeline through owner-managed business networks, accountants, lawyers, banks and investors, and lead pitches and fee discussions.
- Own client relationships: act as the trusted adviser to founders and shareholders through what is often the most significant transaction of their careers.
- Execute with rigour: oversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, marketing materials and data room management, and review the team's output before it reaches the client/counterparties.
- Develop the team: coach and mentor the team, and contribute to hiring and to how the London team operates.
- Work across the Group: collaborate with colleagues across the Translink Group, including on cross-border buyer outreach where a mandate calls for it.
- Uphold standards: work within the Group's regulatory and compliance framework and maintain your professional competence. You are an established Director, or a senior Assistant Director ready to step up, with a proven record of leading mid-market sell-side M&A and the instinct to support the build of a fast growing office.
- Significant M&A or transaction experience at a corporate finance boutique, investment bank or Big Four transaction services team, including leading sell-side processes through to completion.
- Emerging evidence of origination: sourcing, pitching or winning mandates, with a credible network among intermediaries and business owners, or a clear route to building one.
- Confidence advising shareholders, with the judgement to guide complex and personal transactions.
- Strong technical grounding in valuation, financial modelling, deal structuring and transaction documentation. A professional qualification such as ACA or equivalent is preferred.
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative and credible as a leader and mentor.
- Affinity with technology or building products is welcome but not essential. Why Join
- Genuine ownership: you run mandates and hold client relationships, with direct access to the senior team.
- A platform being built: join as the London team grows and help shape its culture, processes and people from an early stage.
- Group backing: the brand, resources and cross-border reach of the Translink Group, within a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
- Reward tied to contribution: an incentive that recognises the revenue you deliver.
- Progression based on merit: for Directors who show the breadth to step up in execution, client trust and origination, there is the opportunity to progress to partner as the London team grows.
