Your role

– Are you ready for a challenge? The Life Underwriter is responsible for the management of the full policy lifecycle, from analysis and appraisal of applications through to policy issuance and claims. You will be the primary point of contact for our distribution partners, medical centres, as well as our reinsurance provider.

The role requires a great relationship builder who is able to work in a professional setting with no micromanagement. The Life Underwriter is accountable for: Pre-screening insurance applicants; Communicating underwriting requirements to brokers and agents; Providing premium quotes/illustrations to brokers and agents; Coordinating client appointments at the appropriate medical centre; ensure proper test are arranged based on amount of coverage requested; Evaluating completed applications for thoroughness and accuracy through the review of life insurance files, client medical records, financial history, and information provided by agents and/or brokers; Coordinating underwriting decision with reinsurance partner; Generating offers or declines based on final underwriting decisions; Creating policy record in underwriting system; Issuing policy documentation; Managing policy lifecycle, including providing regular reporting to our reinsurance partner.

Your profile

– Have you got what it takes to become our Life Underwriter? University degree in business or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in life insurance underwriting management roles of increasing responsibility; Previous senior level underwriting management experience or equivalent experience; Strong knowledge of medical and financial underwriting processes; Effective interpersonal and written communication skills; Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers; Effective time management skills; Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously; Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment; Ability to work in a self-directed fashion; Experience with PCs in a Windows environment; Native/Fluent in English, any additional European language will be an advantage.
