Remote Site Delivery Driver

Delivery Driver (PT) for Meals on Wheels at Lillian Smith Senior Center Clayton, DE Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with paid vacation, sick, and holiday pay (NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS) SUMMARY : Drives a truck or automobile over an established route to deliver meals to homebound seniors (Meals on Wheels).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives vehicle to deliver hot foods to clients' homes according to route and diet sheets Collects donations from clients and returns them to the office Preheats carriers and packs meals for delivery Monitors temperatures of meals with a thermometer to maintain the quality and safety of food Records delivery information, meal orders, time, and mileage on appropriate forms Educates regular clients on the importance of regular voluntary contributions Follows all sanitation and safety procedures Loads and unloads the vehicle Maintains vehicle to adequate performance standards Alerts the appropriate authority of any conditions or circumstances that could affect the client’s health or safety and requests wellness checks if warranted Other duties may be assigned.
