Utility Technician (New Hire)

The Expeditor position is a core component of our workforce as one of the world’s largest steel producers. The Expeditor will support material management and purchasing operations by expediting materials, maintaining accurate purchase order information, and communicating with suppliers and internal departments to ensure materials and services are available to support operations.

Job Responsibilities

Run various expediting reports and compile data according to established procedures. Utilize Oracle to run reports and search for necessary item number information. Expedite materials based on compiled reports and operational needs. Process Min/Max replenishments based on reorder points and material demand as directed by reports.

Complete vendor-managed inventory transactions in iProcurement using quotes uploaded by suppliers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchase order due dates. Communicate with suppliers and internal requestors to obtain updated information regarding materials, orders, and deliveries. Originate and expedite purchase orders for managed parts.

Receive purchase orders for goods and/or services. Perform analytical functions requiring review and analysis of information within established procedures and reports.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Must successfully complete all required computer training as scheduled. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must demonstrate strong computer skills and the ability to analyze data and reports. Must be knowledgeable in or capable of learning Oracle to enter information, process transactions, and manage purchase orders.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate records, prioritize responsibilities, and follow established procedures. Adherence to all company safety procedures and guidelines. Punctuality, consistent attendance, and self-direction are essential for the success of operations.
