Office Assistant

Salt Lake City, UTPosted Oct 20, 2026

Job description

MHTN Architects is seeking an Office Assistant to help support the daily operations of our collaborative, multidisciplinary design studio in downtown Salt Lake City. This position plays an important role in keeping our workplace organized, welcoming, and running smoothly for employees, clients, and visitors. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in their day, and interacting with people across an organization.

From coordinating supplies and preparing meeting spaces to supporting our makerspace and assisting with front-desk coverage, the Office Assistant contributes to the everyday experience of working at MHTN. We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, curious, and willing to learn. You'll receive regular guidance, training, and feedback as you become familiar with MHTN's processes and develop confidence in your responsibilities.

What You'll Do

Help maintain organized, clean, and welcoming shared Studio spaces, including stocking food, beverages, office supplies, and other materials. Monitor inventory and assist with routine purchasing, ordering, and supply management. Complete local errands, pick up supplies and food, and assist with MHTN fleet-vehicle needs, including driving vehicles to scheduled maintenance.

Support workplace sustainability and WELL-related activities, including recycling, composting, and routine water-quality checks. Receive, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages. Prepare Studio spaces, equipment, and materials for meetings, presentations, trainings, lunch-and-learns, and other activities. Coordinate with the Receptionist to provide backup front-desk coverage, welcome visitors, answer incoming calls, and assist with routine reception needs.

Assist with activities in The Lab, MHTN's makerspace, including workspace preparation, material handling, setup, and cleanup for model making, woodworking, laser cutting, and engraving. No prior experience is required. Help prepare and assemble materials for Marketing and other internal teams.

What You'll Bring

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear, friendly, and professional communication skills. A collaborative attitude and willingness to work with people across different teams. Ability to manage multiple recurring tasks, follow established procedures, and communicate priorities or questions. Initiative to recognize when supplies, equipment, or Studio spaces need attention and address or communicate those needs.

Familiarity with common office technology and equipment, and a willingness to learn new systems. Willingness to follow safety procedures and learn how to assist with makerspace equipment and activities. Openness to feedback and an interest in developing new skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and ability to drive company fleet vehicles. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. We encourage you to apply even if you haven't performed all these duties before. We're interested in candidates who bring a positive, dependable approach to their work and are motivated to learn and contribute to a collaborative workplace.

Because this position involves hands-on Studio operations, Reception coverage, and local errands, it is an in-person position and is not eligible for remote work.
