Job Description Position: Automotive Front Counter Assistant Company: Major Automotive Job Type: Full-time Pay: $44,275 – $56,988 Annually Location: Plano, TX Hours: Monday – Friday | No Weekends About the Position Major Automotive, a fast-growing independent automotive repair shop in Downtown Plano, is seeking a personable, highly organized, and detail-oriented Front Counter Assistant to support our Lead Service Advisor and daily front-office operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to enter the automotive service industry and develop into a professional Service Advisor. You'll work side by side with our Lead Advisor, welcoming customers, building meaningful relationships, coordinating vehicle check-ins and check-outs, creating repair orders, and organizing technicians recommendations.

Your role

is to deliver an exceptional customer experience while keeping our front-counter operations organized, allowing our Lead Advisor to focus on repair recommendations and sales. No prior Service Advisor experience is required, but definitely a bonus. We'll provide the training and tools to help you succeed.

& Benefits $44,275 – $56,988 Annual Pay Monday – Friday — No Weekends Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Vacation & Holidays Paid Training and Career Development ASE Certification Reimbursement Employee Discounts on Parts and Labor Opportunity to Advance into a Service Advisor Position Professional, Family-Owned Work Environment Responsibilities Welcome customers and create a friendly, professional first impression Build genuine relationships with customers through conversation, active listening, and personalized service Manage customer check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a seamless experience Ask thoughtful questions to understand customer concerns, expectations, and vehicle needs Create and maintain accurate repair orders (ROs) Build and organize Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) using technician findings Ensure inspection photos, notes, and recommendations are properly documented Assist the Lead Advisor with estimates, repair order preparation, and administrative tasks Maintain accurate customer information, vehicle records, and service history Keep repair orders organized and ensure nothing falls through the cracks Assist with customer payments, invoices, and coordinating Uber shuttle service Communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and management Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-counter environment Requirements Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for helping people Exceptional organization and attention to detail Excellent communication and active listening skills Comfortable working with computers and learning new software Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Dependable, punctual, and accountable Strong reading, writing, and documentation skills No ego — must be coachable and willing to learn Preferred but Not Required: Previous automotive repair shop or dealership experience Familiarity with repair orders, vehicle inspections, or automotive terminology Experience with Tekmetric or similar shop management software Bilingual in English and Spanish Our Ideal Candidate You're someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people while keeping everything organized behind the scenes.
