Crescent Hotels & Resorts invites you to embark on an exciting journey as a Restaurant Manager for the new Japanese Steakhouse Restaurant within the spectacular Remi Hotel, a new build Autograph Collection. Nestled in the pulsating heart of downtown Scottsdale's Entertainment District, this 161-room gem combines classic western elements with bold, modern motifs, redefining the desert aesthetic and attitude. It's five food and beverage outlets range from a 1940's inspired café on the ground level to a seductive Miami-style rooftop pool deck and bar reflective of the orange groves of Morocco.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining culinary standards, developing the team, and helping drive a successful, high-performing restaurant. We're looking for a hands-on leader who brings strong culinary experience, professionalism, and a commitment to quality.

Kitchen Operations

• Lead daily kitchen operations while maintaining consistency in food quality, preparation, presentation, and company standards.
• Operate with a sense of urgency while supporting a professional, welcoming, and guest-focused environment.
• Maintain kitchen schedules, par and prep lists, order guides, inventories, and opening and closing procedures.
• Support kitchen repairs, maintenance, ordering, receiving, and overall organization.
• Lead food education during pre-shift meetings and help strengthen menu knowledge across FOH and BOH teams.
• Evaluate food and service standards using company audits and guest and employee feedback.
• Stay knowledgeable about the local restaurant, hotel, and hospitality market.
• Utilize basic computer applications and POS systems as required.
• Maintain productive vendor relationships while supporting the needs of the restaurant.

Team Leadership

• "Inspire, Inspect, and Inform" the team through consistent, hands-on leadership.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop culinary team members while creating opportunities for continued growth.
• Participate in performance evaluations and provide clear feedback, recognition, and accountability.
• Address performance concerns professionally and consistently while recognizing strong performance.
• Help maintain effective staffing levels, systems, and processes that support an efficient operation.
• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
• Participate in Sexy Roman's PR, marketing, and sales-building initiatives for the restaurant and food operations at the W Hotel.

Financial & Operational Accountability

• Support financial performance by managing food cost, labor, waste, supplies, and other controllable expenses.
• Maintain proper use of waste sheets, labor proformas, and other operational controls.
• Track spending and complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall restaurant performance.

Safety & Standards

• Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, security, and kitchen organization.
• Follow company safety programs and participate in required health and safety inspections.
• Maintain proper ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and shelf-life practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Arizona labor and hiring laws, Department of Health requirements, OSHA standards, and company policies.
• Support responsible sourcing practices, including locally sourced products when possible, and help cultivate an inclusive and collaborative kitchen environment.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 2+ years of Chef experience in a high-volume fine-dining restaurant and/or hotel environment.
• 8+ years of professional cooking experience.
• Strong culinary and food & beverage knowledge with excellent knife skills.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a culinary team.
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Current ServSafe® Certification.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and additional shifts as needed.
