• Hastings, NE, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $15.00 - $16.00Hourly, BUS DRIVER Job Title: Bus Driver Job Grade: FLSA Status: Part-Time Revision Date: 06/17/2021 Reports to: Child Care Director Primary Function/Department: Child Care POSITION SUMMARY: The YMCA is seeking a responsible and safety-minded Bus Driver to transport children from local schools to our YMCA facility for after-school programming. The Bus Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students, maintaining a positive and supportive environment during transit, and representing the values of the YMCA in the community. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operate a YMCA-owned or leased bus or van in a safe and courteous manner. Pick up children at designated schools and transport them to the YMCA. Maintain accurate transportation logs and attendance records. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions. Communicate with school staff, YMCA staff, and families as needed.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers by following YMCA policies and state transportation regulations. Report any incidents, disciplinary issues, or safety concerns promptly to supervisor. Keep the vehicle clean and organized. Assist with other responsibilities at the YMCA as needed when not driving. QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid state-issued driver’s license (CDL with passenger endorsement may be required depending on vehicle size). Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check. Experience working with children is preferred. Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and child development.

Ability to remain calm and patient in high-energy environments. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle. Able to assist children in entering/exiting the vehicle if needed. Able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Qualifications:
