Park Ranger (Non-Sworn)

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Non-Sworn Park Ranger is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons of Lancaster County Parks and Recreation facilities. The Park Ranger provides a visible presence in county parks, during facility rentals, and at special events to deter inappropriate behavior, enforce park rules, county ordinances, and assist with emergencies.

Rangers do not carry weapons and are not certified law enforcement officers. This position plays a key role in customer service, security support, park oversight, and emergency response assistance. The Park Ranger reports directly to the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director.
