Senior Database Administrator
Job description
LMW , on behalf of its client, a leading international technology and digital transformation consulting company, is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join a high-impact project within the banking sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical systems, ensuring the performance, security, and availability of enterprise databases in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
This role is fully on-site and offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams delivering innovative solutions for one of the country's leading financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning strategies. Ensure high availability, reliability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes. Manage database security, user access, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database platforms. Support application deployments and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams. Perform capacity planning and proactively identify opportunities for system improvements. Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments. Strong experience administering relational database management systems such as Oracle , Microsoft SQL Server , PostgreSQL , or similar platforms. Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database architecture principles. Experience with database monitoring and automation tools. Understanding of security best practices and access management. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Relevant database certifications are considered an advantage.
