Developmental Specialist I

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Developmental Specialist work s with families to provide age-appropriate developmental services for infants and toddlers, 0-3 years of age. Developmental Specialists trave l to meet families in their most natural environment often in their home or village. Developmental Specialists work within a multidiscipline team and help children and families transition into their next placement before the age o f 3. This position will adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the BBAHC Policy and Procedures Manual and the State and Federal Rules and Regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in an early childhood special education, social work or related field. Professional licensure/certification in teaching, social work, or master's degree in related field. Must have a minimum of one year experience working with young children. Must be able to work within a team. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the child served in their case load.

Will complete state-mandate Part C credentials the first six months on the job during regularly scheduled work hours. Must be able to obtain Alaska SEED credentials of level 9 or higher.
