About the Role

The Manager of IT will play a crucial role in overseeing the technology infrastructure and systems that support our aviation operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all IT services are aligned with the strategic goals of the organization, particularly in enhancing operational efficiency and safety in aviation.

The manager will lead a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving. Additionally, the role involves managing budgets, vendor relationships, and compliance with industry regulations. Ultimately, the Manager of IT will ensure that our technology solutions are robust, secure, and capable of supporting the dynamic needs of the aviation industry.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably within the aviation industry. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and security protocols. ITIL Foundation certification as an asset (aligns with our service management processes and incident handling expectations) Advanced Microsoft 365 proficiency (administration, troubleshooting, Teams/SharePoint support, and familiarity with the Security & Compliance Center) Aviation or airport operations experience as an asset (helpful for supporting MCC, Charter, Airport Ops, and counter‑level IT environments) Basic networking troubleshooting (Wi‑Fi issues, desktop/laptop setup and troubleshooting, printers, etc.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the overall business objectives of the aviation organization. Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and provide solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards related to IT security and data management. Skills: The required skills in aviation will be utilized to ensure that all IT systems are tailored to meet the unique demands of the industry, such as compliance with safety regulations and operational efficiency.

Strong leadership skills will be essential for managing a diverse team and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Problem-solving skills will be critical in addressing any technical issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Additionally, project management skills will be necessary for overseeing various IT initiatives, ensuring they align with the strategic goals of the organization.

Finally, effective communication skills will be vital for liaising with other departments and stakeholders to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
