Structures Design Engineer

Spacecraft Structure Design Engineer Mountain View, California @Orchard LLC is seeking several Structure Design Engineers to join a team located in Mountain View, CA. In this role, you will manage the design and development of spacecraft structures and secondary supports. Additional responsibilities include generating drawings, supporting spacecraft structure build, and supporting special projects dealing with structural products.

You will join a fast-growing satellite and space manufacturer on the cutting edge of Aerospace engineering. As the Spacecraft Structure Design Engineer, you will. Create product specifications, negotiate design details, design and build interfaces, create test plans/procedures, build and test processes based on program requirements.

Help oversee the integration of subcontracted hardware into spacecraft systems architecture. Generate engineering drawings and models with Creo and other design tools. Help disposition nonconformances and drive process improvements Minimum requirements Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace), or related field 2 years of experience Piece part and subassembly modeling in CREO or other CAD software and assembly drawing generation Preferred Qualifications Strong project management skills Detailed understanding of top-level assembly models, product structure, and bill of materials (BOM) definition.

Possess understanding of design practices for release, redline, and engineering change notice processes Comfortable working on interdisciplinary teams, internally and externally Comfortable leading and conducting meetings with customers, vendors, and different levels of management Knowledge of skills such as manufacturing processes, soldering, mechanical assembly, electromechanical integration, etc.

Ability to assume role as sub-system owner and/or lead multidisciplinary team for fulfillment of programmatic requirements Ability to evaluate processes for non-value-added steps and continuous improvement opportunities Strong written and verbal communication skills Group project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplines Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills Compensation: The base salary for this role will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.

Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skill sets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually. A comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k), is provided to eligible employees.
