JOB DESCRIPTION Current shift available: Full-time or Part-time JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant or Nurse Aide (ISB and Acute) DEPARTMENT: Nursing JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports: Responsible To: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Department Manager Responsible For: Does not supervise other employees Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with clinic and hospital departments and medical staff.

JOB SUMMARY

The CNA/NA is a professional caregiver who provides direct and indirect care activities under direct supervision. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Previous experience in a health care setting preferred/not required.

Education

High School graduate (or equivalent) or high school student with an interest in health care profession. (Must be 16 years or older) Current CNA Kansas Certificate, recommended CPR certificate, must be obtained and maintained upon employment. KEY COMPETENCIES: Excellent written and verbal communication Knowledge in MS Office, Gmail, and patient management software Strong organizational, planning, time management and prioritizing skills Ability to multitask Excellent Time Management Critical Thinking Adaptable to ongoing changes in healthcare Able to follow policy and procedures This list is not exhaustive and may be supplement as necessary JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (CNA/NA responsibilities include but not limited to) Prepare unit/patient room for receiving a patient/resident for admission Provide personal care assistance including: bathing, hygiene, grooming, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, and ambulating Obtain and document vital signs, weight and intake/output as directed Document accurately daily activities and pertinent information Make regular rounds to assigned patients, anticipate their needs, answer call lights in a timely manner, and respond to alarms and emergency lights as soon as possible Transport patient/resident as necessary Provide postmortem care when necessary Work with other team members to turn and transfer patients as directed WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasionally exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases.

Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Occasionally exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Stand, walk, bend, stoop and stretch for prolonged periods of time. Push/pull patients in wheelchairs (up to approximately 250 pounds). Lifting Restocking supplies Working with equipment Physical Requirements: Level 3 (Available upon request)
