All offers of employment are contingent upon all applicable background screens The Certified Medical Assistant will work alongside the RN/LPN in providing for the medical needs of our residents.
This includes medication passing, attending physician appointments, completing treatments, documenting and/or other assigned tasks. The Medical Assistant may also act as a phlebotomist when trained appropriately. Responsible for managing medical supply inventory and regular Cart Audits. Role and Responsibilities: Medication Passing Staff Training Manage Resident medical appointments Schedule/Attend external appointments Ensure Vitals are documented/available to Treatment Team Documentation management E.
H.R. Fax Queue Management Weekly Cart Count Coordinate with the pharmacy during med cart change over to ensure med reconciliation Manage bio-hazard collection and removal services Inventory and managing all medical supplies Lab draw, as directed Administer injections, as directed Complete/manage TB tests, as directed Education: Medical Assistant Certification
- Required Driver’s license Preferred Skills: Phlebotomy Medication Administration Qualifications: Possesses the ability to work in a constantly changing environment, good judgment skills, and capable of making decisions with attention to detail. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate workload with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy. Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work easily and cooperatively with other departments. Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks without direct supervision. Ability to work well under pressure in a flexible, diplomatic, and expeditious manner. Maintains strict confidentiality of patients’ medical records and adherence to all HIPAA policies and regulations. Good overall knowledge of Eisenhower Center departments and their respective scopes Working Conditions and Physical Demands This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and movement throughout residential settings while administering medications and supporting resident care activities. The employee must be able to perform medication administration tasks accurately and maintain compliance with established policies and procedures. The employee may be required to lift, push, pull, or assist residents and equipment as necessary within the scope of the position. The employee must be able to lift up to 35 pounds independently and greater weights with assistance or appropriate lifting devices. Work is performed in residential and behavioral health treatment environments and may involve exposure to medications, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related conditions. The employee will have regular exposure to residents receiving services in adult foster care and behavioral health settings and must be able to respond appropriately to resident needs, emergencies, and behavioral situations. The employee may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
