Job description

JD — Assistant Manager (Instrumentation & Automation) — Projects Reporting To: Project Head Location: Butibori (Site) Role Purpose To lead and execute Instrumentation & Automation scope for project activities at site, ensuring timely completion, safe execution, proper documentation, and commissioning readiness, with strong coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Plan and execute instrumentation installation works at site (field instruments, impulse/sampling lines as applicable, junction boxes, panels, cabling, terminations) as per approved drawings and project plan
  • Coordinate and support automation system implementation (PLC/SCADA/HMI or equivalent) including IO planning, integration support, and readiness for start-up
  • Drive testing & commissioning readiness for instrumentation/automation (calibration, loop checks, functional checks, signal verification) and close punch points
  • Coordinate with PMC and Project Consultant for scope clarity, drawing clarifications, site queries, and timely closure of observations
  • Coordinate with vendors/service providers for manpower planning, material readiness, execution sequencing, and completion commitments
  • Ensure work completion with required quality standards, safety compliance, and timeline adherence
  • Maintain and control site documentation (calibration records, test sheets, checklists, approvals, as-built markups, handover documents) required for smooth commissioning/handover
  • Support internal user department during pre-commissioning and start-up to ensure stable operation and issue closure
  • Coordinate with Purchase team for technical inputs (specifications, scope confirmation, technical evaluation support), delivery follow-up, and documentation needed for procurement closure
  • Coordinate with Finance team for bill processing/payment follow-up by ensuring required supporting documents (measurements/work completion confirmations/approvals) are ready as per process
  • Provide daily progress updates, highlight risks/constraints early, and support Project Head with reporting and prioritization Skills Required
  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation & automation execution and commissioning support
  • Ability to interpret and work with drawings/documents (instrument list, loop drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, IO list, basic control logic understanding)
  • Hands-on approach for site coordination, issue resolution, and work-front management
  • Vendor handling, follow-up discipline, and execution planning mindset
  • Strong documentation discipline and good reporting skills
  • Strong safety mindset and quality focus
  • Good communication and coordination with multiple internal teams Preferred Qualification & Experience
  • BE/BTech/Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical / Automation
