Chiller Technician III

We are looking for an all-star Chiller Technician to join our Star Service of Houston team.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant system issues Conduct start-ups, shutdowns, and performance testing Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Maintain accurate service records and documentation Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures Communicate clearly with customers regarding system status and repair recommendations Participate in on-call rotation as required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial chillers Strong knowledge of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers Experience with Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, and similar equipment Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration circuits, compressors, TXVs/EXVs, controls, sensors, VFDs, and electrical systems Ability to perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and system startup Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences Experience diagnosing high/low-pressure, flow, temperature, and control-related problems Knowledge of BAS/controls is a plus EPA 608 certification required Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers Ability to work outdoors, on rooftops, and in mechanical rooms Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or emergency service when needed Must have a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship Why Join Star Houston: Competitive pay and benefits package Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans to keep you and your family covered, including free preventive care and affordable prescription options.
