Build What Actually Gets Installed
At VIATechnik, we don't just model systems-we help bring them to life. We're looking for a BIM Detailer who can turn coordinated models into fabrication-ready drawings that drive real-world installation for complex mechanical and plumbing systems.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work directly influences how projects are built-down to the spool, the cut, and the install.
What You'll Do
You'll take ownership of transforming coordinated BIM models into clear, accurate, installer-ready deliverables, including:
- Creating spool drawings, fabrication packages, and installation details that fabrication and field teams can execute with confidence
- Ensuring model accuracy, constructability, and coordination across systems
- Supporting project teams to keep detailing aligned with fabrication and construction schedules
- Identifying and resolving issues early to reduce rework and keep projects moving
The Impact You'll Make
In this role, your success means:
- Fabrication teams can build with minimal revisions
- Field teams install with clarity and confidence
- Projects stay on schedule with fewer coordination issues
- BIM becomes a true driver of execution-not just design
Why This Role is a Career Move
This is more than a detailing role-it's a chance to grow into a high-level BIM fabrication expert.
You'll gain:
- Exposure to advanced BIM workflows and manufacturing-driven construction
- Experience working across project management, coordination, and field teams
- Opportunities to work on large-scale, complex systems
- A pathway into digital construction, automation, and AI-enabled BIM tools
- If you want to deepen your technical expertise and see your work directly impact real-world builds, this is the place.
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical BIM skills with real-world trade understanding:
- Experience producing mechanical and/or plumbing BIM drawings
- Strong understanding of constructability and installation practices
- Ability to create clear, detailed fabrication and spool drawings
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
- Strong communication skills across office and field teams
Bonus if you:
- Have experience supporting fabrication workflows or manufacturing environments
- Are curious about automation, AI tools, or digital construction innovation
Compensation and featured benefits:
- The pay for this position is $65,000 – $80,000, and the role is eligible for bonuses. The actual salary offer may be different as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, location, and experience
- Health insurance with the choice of five plan options. We cover 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plan chosen)
- Dental and vision insurance. We cover up to 75% of the monthly insurance premiums for VIATechies and up to 50% of the premiums for dependents (depending on the plans chosen)
- Open and flexible time off
- A 401(k) plan that is fully vested immediately
- Home office setup costs
- Paid holidays
As a minority and woman owned and led company, VIATechnik seeks to build a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. VIATechnik is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
