This is an exciting opportunity to lead the company’s virtual design and construction initiatives while collaborating with engineers, detailers, project managers, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders. As the central point of coordination, you will oversee multidisciplinary model integration, internal model coordination, clash detection, BIM quality assurance, and coordination workflows to ensure models are accurate, coordinated, constructible, and aligned with company standards.
In this role, you will develop and maintain BIM standards, drive continuous improvement in model-based project delivery, and play a key role in reducing field conflicts, improving project efficiency, and supporting successful project execution through proactive coordination and communication. Sectors We Operate In: Mission Critical and Data Centers Aviation Advanced Manufacturing What You Will Do Lead model coordination efforts across structural, precast, and steel.
Ensure consistency between design model, precast and steel fabrication models. Facilitate internal coordination meetings and support project kickoff meetings to establish BIM execution requirements. Coordinate model exchanges, version control, and information management throughout project lifecycles. Develop and manage clash detection procedures and coordination protocols.
Perform routine clash detection reviews using Navisworks, ACC, Revizto, or similar coordination platforms. Prioritize clashes based on constructability, schedule impact, safety concerns, and project risk. Assign clash-resolution responsibilities and monitor progress through closure. Maintain clash logs, issue tracking systems, and coordination reports.
Support development of standardized workflows for issue management and model review. Establish model QA/QC procedures including model audits, level of development (LOD) requirements, naming conventions, and coordination requirements. Review project models for compliance with company standards and project execution plans.
Support standardization of model deliverables across all project teams. Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, detailing, VDC, project management, QA/QC, and information technology teams. Promote communication and knowledge-sharing across offices and project teams. Assist leadership in identifying coordination risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Support implementation of company-wide VDC initiatives and technology adoption. Review project models for constructability concerns and coordination risks. Identify conflicts that may affect fabrication, erection sequencing, field installation, access, clearances, and maintenance requirements. Participate in project review meetings and provide recommendations to improve constructability.
Collaborate with project teams to reduce rework and improve project execution. Evaluate emerging VDC technologies, automation tools, AI applications, and workflow enhancements. Assist in developing dashboards and metrics related to model quality, clash resolution, and coordination performance. Coordinate with technology and IT teams regarding software updates, integrations, and licensing requirements.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on model coordination efficiency and project delivery. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, BIM Technology, or related field. 8+ years of experience in BIM/VDC, model coordination, or construction technology. 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
Advanced proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Revizto, or comparable platforms. Strong understanding of BIM execution planning, model management, and clash detection workflows. Experience with precast concrete, structural engineering, or specialty fabrication coordination is preferred.
Knowledge of Tekla Structures, Dynamo, Power BI, and automation tools is preferred. Experience leading multidisciplinary coordination on large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or data center projects is preferred.
