Senior Piping Designer

Lead Design & 3D Modeling: Spearhead complex 3D plant modeling using AVEVA E3D for large-scale metals and mining projects (e.g., concentrator plants, crushing/grinding areas, hydrometallurgical plants, tailings disposal systems, and slurry pumping stations). Develop optimal plot plans, equipment layouts, and pipe routing strategies adhering strictly to safety, operability, and constructability principles.

Catalog & Specification Management: Set up, customize, and manage E3D project catalogs, specifications (Specs), and pipe support databases tailored to project requirements and international standards. Drawing & Deliverable Production: Oversee and review the generation of accurate Piping General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, elevations, and construction-ready piping isometrics out of E3D / ISODRAFT.

Ensure high quality and accuracy of Piping Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and bulk material estimations. Inter-Disciplinary & Multi-Office Coordination: Translate complex Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) into physical 3D routing configurations. Collaborate seamlessly with civil, structural, electrical, and process engineering teams.

Utilize AVEVA Review / Navisworks for comprehensive clash detection sessions, design reviews, and model health checks. Coordinate closely with pipe stress engineers to integrate critical spring, guide, and anchor support designs. Team Leadership & Quality Assurance: Mentor, guide, and review the work of junior and mid-level piping designers.

Ensure all engineering designs comply with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.1, B31.3, ISO) as well as client-specific specifications. Lead 30%, 60%, and 90% model review audits with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

7 to 15 Years Industry: Metals & Mining / Minerals Processing / Heavy Industrial EPC Software Proficiency: AVEVA E3D (Everything3D) / AVEVA PDMS (Mandatory) Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering
