The Department: The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley is generating a new applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors and invites applications for a lecturer position to teach courses in our department in the following areas: Energy, Civil Infrastructure and Climate Constructions Systems Environmental Engineering Geo.

Systems Engineering Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials Systems (Civil Systems) Transportation Engineering. We are establishing an applicant pool to anticipate potential instructional needs for the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms. Positions will be filled as openings arise. Candidates under consideration will be contacted by our department.

Selected candidates will hold the title of Lecturer. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. General Duties: In addition to classroom/laboratory teaching and preparation, general duties may include (but are not limited to): Managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants) Holding office hours Assigning grades Preparing course materials (e.

g., syllabus) Maintaining course website. Those interested in remaining in the pool beyond the final date will need to reapply.
