Automation Controls Engineer

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Control / Instrumentation Engineer will support and assist the Engineering Department. Job Status: Full-Time Salaried Exempt Reports to: Engineering Manager Role Responsibilities: The Process Control / Instrumentation Engineer will conduct the following duties including but not limited to: Design and implementation of PLC based automated process control for new production systems.

System start-up support. Establishing, implementation of, and maintaining Preventive Maintenance programs for all new and existing process control and instrumentation systems. Maintaining all plant process control and instrumentation systems. Establishing, implementation of, and maintaining a Data Acquisition program for all new and existing systems.

Project Management. Develop and design electrical and controls system schematics and drawings based on engineering principles using AutoCAD/SolidWorks. Ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot electrical schematics and control systems. On-call position, may require working nights and weekends.

Education

Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Experience/Skills/Abilities: Thorough knowledge of industrial process control and instrumentation. Job Expectations/Working Conditions: Possess a valid driver’s license. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to ascend/descend stairs in buildings. Requires ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
