Legal & Compliance Intern

What you will do

Manus is hiring an intern to support our Legal and Compliance team. You will contribute to legal research, drafting, compliance, public policy, and the team's operational foundations. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys research, working with internal stakeholders, and finding better ways to get work done through the use of AI tools.

You will work under team supervision and learn how an in-house team supports a technology business. Legal Assist with initial reviews of NDAs, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts using approved templates and guidance Help prepare contract summaries and draft documents for team review, using approved tools to support your work.

Help support and maintain legal request intake and matter trackers Organize existing contract files and maintain a searchable repository Prepare basic status reports from trackers. Coordinate information requests, signature logistics, document collection, and follow-ups with internal teams Build and maintain a knowledge base of approved templates, guidance, FAQs, and research.

Keep naming, indexing, and version records consistent. Identify ways to simplify recurring tasks and use AI tools or simple automations to improve intake, document management, and reporting. Document processes and keep guidance up to date. Compliance Track relevant laws, regulatory guidance, and enforcement developments.

Explain their potential impact on the business Help update internal policies, training materials, and compliance records Support product and marketing reviews by gathering facts, checking supporting materials, and tracking follow-up actions.

What we are looking for

A 3rd or 4th year student in law. Relevant recent graduates may also apply Comfort working in fast-paced environment Strong research and analytical skills, with the judgment to check sources, question assumptions, and draw clear conclusions Practical experience using AI tools in day-to-day work, study, or projects, with sound judgment about their use and limitations Good judgment when handling confidential information and attention to detail in your work Comfort with shared databases, document repositories, and structured trackers.

Reliability in managing tasks and deadlines independently An interest in AI, technology, and regulation, and curiosity about how new tools can improve legal work Chinese language skills or other language skills relevant to the team's work Willingness to handle routine groundwork alongside research and drafting What you will gain Experience building the operational foundations of an in-house legal and compliance function.
