DevOps Specialist

Responsibilities

Design, develop and operate scalable and secure cloud backend applications for IoT platforms in a Microsoft Azure environment. Implement distributed backend services using Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, MQTT-based communication, and event-driven integrations. Develop cloud-native microservices and deploy them on Kubernetes-based container platforms.

Contribute to the design and evolution of backend architectures, service interfaces, and integration patterns for connected devices and cloud services. Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for application services using tools such as Helm, Git. Ops, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions. Take responsibility for backend services across the full lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.

Ensure high availability, security, observability, and maintainability of backend services. Collaborate closely with product owners, technical architects, IT, security teams, and internal or external service providers. Support the integration of connected devices, backend services, and external systems into the cloud platform landscape.

Skills Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification. Several years of experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot. Required experience in designing and implementing distributed backend applications, microservices, and REST APIs. Good knowledge of container technologies, Helm, Linux, and cloud-native deployment concepts.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Good understanding of messaging and integration technologies such as MQTT5. Knowledge of databases and data stores such as PostgreSQL or InfluxDB is beneficial. Experience with IoT platforms, connected devices, or device-to-cloud communication is a plus. Experience with agile software development, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Strong problem-solving skills, affinity for innovation, and a structured, collaborative way of working. Very good English skills; German skills are a plus.
