New American Pathways Ameri. Corps Project Rise Position Descriptions Title: Project Rise Ameri. Corps (Multiple Positions) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours, approximately 9:30am to 5:30pm or 10:30am to 6:30pm (dependent on position) Occasional evenings and weekends. Start date: September 1, 2026 End date: July 31, 2027 Ameri.
Corps Project Rise (RISE: Refugee and Immigrant Success through Education) is an Ameri. Corps effort that focuses on educational services for the De. Kalb County refugee and immigrant community. In Ameri. Corps Project Rise, 15 full-time Ameri. Corps Volunteers serving an 11-month service cycle will leverage community volunteers and support refugee and immigrant self-sufficiency by offering individualized direct services focusing on employment, education, healthcare, cultural integration, and financial self-sufficiency.
All Ameri. Corps activities include a focus on education and literacy, with all Ameri. Corps Volunteers serving at least one-third of their time in after-school/summer tutoring and two-thirds of their time delivering core program services in different departments focusing on promoting self-sufficiency and success for refugees and immigrants in Georgia.
All full-time Ameri. Corps Volunteers will complete a minimum of 1700 hours from September 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027. Service positions are contingent upon New American Pathways receiving the Ameri. Corps grant award from the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism. Program Requirements: Full time (40 hours per week) 11-month commitment Starting September 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027 Must complete 1700 service hours and finish the terms of the commitment (all 11 months) to qualify for the education award Submit to a criminal history background check Participate in day/evening/weekend service projects, trainings, monthly meetings, retreats, and other national service events, as required, occasionally outside of regular service hours Driver’s license, good driving record, and access to reliable personal vehicle required, service-related mileage will be reimbursed Must be a U.
S. Citizen or Permanent Resident All Ameri. Corps Volunteers must assist instructors in classroom supervision, mild student behavior correction, and occasionally leading/co-leading after-school lessons/activities Submit monthly reports measuring progress toward Project Rise goals Additionally, Project Rise members will periodically have the opportunity to learn about and serve in different departments within the agency.
This will allow for a more extensive understanding of services extended to immigrants, as well as enable members to develop a range of skills Skills and Competencies: A personal passion to support refugees and immigrants and a commitment to community service Sensitivity and respect for individuals across a wide range of cultures, ethnicities, religions, races, genders, sexual orientations, and lived experiences Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word Strong organizational and communication skills Adaptability and ability to work independently, multi-task, and maintain focus Experienced in being a positive, active member of a team in a multicultural environment Organizational/time management skills, ability to prioritize with attention to detail Flexible and able to problem solve Preferred bachelor’s degree or higher Preferred proficiency in foreign languages (especially Arabic, Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Swahili, or Burmese) Preferred experience working with youth/children and speakers of other languages Benefits: Ameri.
Corps living stipend of $21,500 for the 11 months ($895 paid every 2 weeks, pretax) Segal Ameri. Corps Education Award of $7,395 granted at the end of the service term after successful completion (1700 hours and all commitment requirements). This education award can be used to pay for existing or future student loans or be used to pay tuition at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools within 7 years post-service.
Health, vision, and dental insurance are offered at no cost to Ameri. Corps Open Positions for 2026-2027: Volunteer Engagement – Coordinate communication, placement, orientation, recruitment, training, and appreciation for volunteer and intern opportunities with New American Pathways; lead outreach/donation drive events in the community Newcomer Workshops – Develop, coordinate, and conduct workshops to educate immigrant adults on topics such as tenant rights, public transportation, US school systems, know your rights, taxes/financial literacy, and US healthcare system After-School and Summer Camp Program Development (2 positions) – Develop and manage after-school/summer camp curriculum that engages immigrant students in personal development, literacy, math, science, technology, and art New American Pathways is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
An official offer of the position is dependent on approval of grant funding by the Georgia Commission and the Corporation for National and Community Service. After-school schedules are dependent on programmatic funding and are subject to change.
