Job description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Lead to support and help oversee the company’s commercial contracting function. This role will manage a high volume of incoming contracts, support timely review and negotiation, partner closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders, and help drive contracting efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience negotiating SaaS and technology agreements, strong drafting and redlining skills, experience using CLM systems, and the ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This role also requires experience working with contract playbooks, fallback language, and standardized negotiation processes, including the ability to develop, revise, and maintain such materials over time.
Experience in telecommunications, SaaS platforms, or technology services is strongly preferred. This position may also include oversight and mentorship responsibilities for members of the contracts team. This role reports to Corporate Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Review, draft, redline, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, customer contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, order forms, amendments, and partnership agreements. Coordinate incoming contract requests to ensure timely review, prioritization, negotiation, approval, and execution.
Negotiate contractual terms directly with customers, vendors, and partners through written communications and live negotiations. Partner closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, Security, Product, and Operations teams to facilitate efficient contract execution while managing legal and business risk. Utilize contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems to track, manage, and organize contracts and related workflows.
Develop, maintain, revise, and apply contract playbooks, fallback language, templates, negotiation guidance, and internal process documentation. Help ensure consistency in contract language, negotiation positions, approval processes, and contracting workflows. Identify and escalate legal, operational, financial, and compliance risks as appropriate.
Assist with contracting metrics, reporting, training, and internal stakeholder guidance regarding contracting standards and processes. Potentially supervise, mentor, and help coordinate the work of additional contracts team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) valued Experience: 5+ years of experience negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in a SaaS, technology, telecommunications, or software environment. Strong experience reviewing and negotiating SaaS agreements and related commercial technology contracts.
Experience using CLM systems; Salesforce experience strongly preferred. Excellent drafting, redlining, editing, negotiation, and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong business judgment and practical approach to contract negotiation and risk management.
Comfortable interacting directly with Sales teams and participating in customer-facing negotiations. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments. Experience developing, revising, maintaining, and utilizing contract playbooks, fallback positions, and standardized negotiation guidance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in telecommunications expense management, telecom services, SaaS platforms, or related technology sectors. Prior people management or team leadership experience. Experience supporting fast-paced sales organizations. Familiarity with privacy, security, and data protection provisions commonly found in SaaS agreements.
Bachelor’s degree; paralegal certification, legal training, NCMA certification, CLM platform certification, or related professional certifications are a plus. Skills and Competencies Highly organized and responsive. Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Solutions-oriented mindset. Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
Professional, collaborative, and adaptable. Sound judgment under pressure and tight deadlines. Agile, with the ability to switch tasks quicky and seamlessly.
