She has been with Union Health since 2009 and has been leading this unit since 2017. Essential # valuable nursing skills gained on this unit: Care of the surgical patient post-operative to discharge Care of CVAD and PICC lines# Wound vac and wound care Foley insertion and care of CBI Nasogastric tube insertion and maintenance# Ostomy care and teaching Chemotherapy administration# Chest tube care and maintenance# Epidural care and maintenance# JP and Accordian drain care and maintenance# Blood product administration# Unit Successes and Designation: Daisy Award winner 2020 and 2022 Unit Culture: 8-week new graduate RN orientation# Preceptor support New graduate residency program# Nurse Apprentice program# Nurse Extern program# # # RN job details: Essential Job Duties: Collaborates with the physician or manager to determine#needs#of patients Completes the routine physical assessment using common assessment skills in a systematic manner.

Contributes to#plan#of care for pre-defined patient problems. Respects patients# rights, including the right to inform, privacy, confidentiality, and the right to refuse care. Assists with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence. Follows company policies and procedures and department protocols.

Assists the physician with special procedures.

Qualifications
