The Operations Optimization Specialist – Fraud & Risk is responsible for evaluating, refining, and automating operational workflows within the Fraud & Risk Management team.
The role focuses on eliminating manual redundancies, standardizing risk investigation procedures, and enhancing data analysis to improve overall operational efficiency and risk detection speed. Positioned within Fraud & Risk Operations, this role serves as an internal functional specialist who leverages advanced Excel models and foundational Python scripts to clean, process, and analyze complex dataset structures.
The successful candidate will streamline day-to-day team operations without requiring direct involvement from IT or software engineering teams. What You’ll Be Doing Operational Process Optimization Review daily Fraud & Risk workflows to identify manual bottlenecks and recurring operational inefficiencies. Redesign and standardize investigation steps, alert handling, and risk assessment workflows.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tracking templates to streamline cross-team tasks. Track operational metrics, including case turnaround times, analyst throughput, and process error rates. Advanced Excel & VBA Analytics Develop and maintain automated Excel models, templates, and macros for daily team operations.
Utilize Power Query, advanced formulas, and structured macros to consolidate data across multiple risk reports. Build standardized templates for duplicate account reviews, transaction reconciliations, and bonus abuse tracking. Maintain clean, documented, and user-friendly workbooks for operational analysts. Data Processing & Scripting (Python) Apply foundational Python scripts to automate repetitive data extraction, cleansing, and formatting tasks.
Run data manipulation scripts to consolidate large datasets (e.g., player logs, payment histories, device records). Generate automated operational reports and exception alerts to highlight abnormal player behaviors or risk velocity. Assist in organizing data structures prior to escalation or management reporting. Workflow Efficiency & Tool Utilization (Microsoft Power Platform) Build basic forms, trackers, and low-code workflows using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to digitize manual log sheets.
Set up automated notification triggers, task assignments, and approval workflows within standard Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel). Configure operational dashboards in Power BI or Excel to provide team leads with real-time visibility into active risk queues. Risk Analysis & Trend Identification Analyze player activity, betting patterns, and payment transactions to identify emerging fraud vectors.
Assist operational teams in identifying indicators of multi-accounting, bonus abuse, payment fraud, and arbitrage. Create structured summary reports on operational risk trends for management review. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the functional liaison for Fraud & Risk Operations when communicating operational requirements to IT or BI teams.
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from a business end-user perspective when new corporate software or vendor tools are introduced. Train operational analysts on optimized tools, templates, and automated workflows. What You Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in process optimization, data analysis, or risk operations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills : Proficiency with Power Query, complex nested logic, pivot tables, and VBA/macro development. Basic Python knowledge : Practical capability to write and execute scripts for data manipulation (Pandas, CSV handling, basic data cleanup).
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) for workflow tracking. Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving mindset. Preferred Background in i. Gaming, e-commerce, fintech, or payment processing operations. Operational familiarity with risk tools (e.g., SEON, fraud scoring engines, or internal back-office admin systems).
Exposure to basic SQL queries for reporting purposes. Experience creating operational dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.
