The ideal candidate is a hands-on Electrical Engineer with strong FPGA/digital design experience, solid analog electronics skills, and experience designing low-noise, low-leakage precision measurement circuits in a regulated industry.
This is a hybrid position based in Melbourne, FL. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
Design and develop microcontroller and FPGA architectures for medical measurement and control systems. Develop and verify FPGA designs using Verilog/VHDL for real-time signal processing and timing-critical applications. Design and troubleshoot low-noise, low-leakage analog signal conditioning circuits, including femtoampere-range measurement systems.
Define system requirements, functional specifications, and verification/acceptance criteria; participate in design reviews and design control activities. Own electrical design documentation, including schematics, PCB layout specifications, design specifications, and technical procedures. Analyze and optimize noise, leakage, signal integrity, and overall circuit performance.
Support verification, validation, manufacturing troubleshooting, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) activities. Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to bring designs from concept through production. Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on complex electrical design and troubleshooting challenges.
Ensure designs meet applicable medical-device regulatory and quality requirements, including IEC 60601, design controls, and traceability. Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and design records throughout the product development lifecycle.
