Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative
Job description
Reidsville Veterinary Hospital is seeking an outgoing Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative to serve as a flexible, cross-trained member of our team.
In this fast-paced role, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services — while also stepping into the clinical area to assist with patient care and exam room support as needed. This position will be trained in both receptionist and veterinary assistant duties, providing coverage across both departments based on daily needs. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused environment where no two days look exactly the same.
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour, for each hour worked**
- This is a part-time position with potential to grow into full-time, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday–Sunday. Every other weekend is required. Guaranteed 20 – 29 hours per week; shifts will fluctuate based on departmental coverage needs.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

1+ years of experience in a customer service, reception, or client-facing role

Previous veterinary or animal care experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate

Proficiency in the following skills:

Ability to manage a multi-line phone system while assisting in-person clients

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Ability to provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and emotionally sensitive situations

Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred

Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records

Safe, gentle animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments

Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across departments
