Cornerstone Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), with locations throughout Southwestern Pa., is seeking an EFDA to join our dental team. Job Description/Duties Include: Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. Selects, mixes, and places materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. Exposes and develops radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. Maintains patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols. Completes preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Applies sealants, takes impressions, performs coronal polishing, applies topical anesthetic, applies topical fluoride Obtains prior authorizations Scans Handles patient phone calls MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required Current radiography certification required Current EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) certification required Dental Assistant certification as required by state; ability to become certified Qualifications: Cornerstone Care is a Non-Profit, Federally Qualified Health Center with 14 locations and a mobile unit, serving communities throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, and Northern West Virginia.
