Who We Are: Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 13,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th � 12th grade campuses.

The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City. What We Need: The primary role of the Manager of Strategy & Grant Writing is to positively impact student achievement through the support and facilitation of exemplary state and federal programs and school improvement efforts. The Manager must be an individual who is eager to participate in school-based improvement efforts including instructional coaching, training, parent involvement, and other areas that are aligned with Title Grant regulations and District Strategic Plan initiatives.

This individual must demonstrate the high-level skills required to oversee the development of comprehensive program plans, implementation of planned programs, and monitoring of budgets in accordance with established federal, state, and local policies. The Manager must also oversee district-wide Professional Development effort.

The Manager of Strategy & Grant Writing will be directly responsible to the Associate Superintendent for Equity, Innovation, and Accountability and is indirectly responsible to the Deputy Superintendent for Academic Supports and Programs Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for requirements as outlined below in relation to all State & Federal funds Develop the annual application and any required amendments; Keep up to date with changing laws and guidelines; Develop program descriptions and prepare required budgets; Maintain records and documentation of expenditures for annual audit review; Assist in the revised budgets as needed; Ensure compliance with all State & Federal benchmarks and expectations that are required in the various grants Ensure the compliant operation of Title I in the non-public schools to include: Timely and meaningful consultation meetings with the non-public school representatives; Arrange for any services being provided to a non-public school from an outside agency (if any).

Oversees all questions regarding supplemental and supplanting issues for categorical funds. Frequently monitor the requirements of the District's Strategic Plan to provide recommendations for continuous across the Division of Academic Supports and Programs Maintain student assessment records to comply with submission of the Title Grant Annual Performance Report.

Coordinate the School Improvement process for the district in concert with District Leadership. Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities related to school improvement plans throughout the district. Promote and develop opportunities for parent and community involvement in the school and district improvement process.

Meet regularly with all principals on the operations of all federal programs. Manage the District's Professional Development SDS system Pursue additional resources through the development and submission of grants. Provide school presentations regarding school improvement and Title Grant components. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

Attend regular staff meetings and conduct regular staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Superintendent for Equity, Innovation, and Opportunity and Deputy Superintendent for Academic Supports and Programs.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educators License Master's degree or higher. At least three years successful teaching experience required, with extensive building and district-level administrative experience required Experience providing professional development preferred Experience or training in learning strategies preferred Experience with writing and implementing State, Federal and Competitive Grants Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills Be able to successfully work in a collaborative environment.

Able to mediate and resolve conflicts. Ability to interact with teachers, parents, outside agencies and central services staff.
