Position Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Human Resources Coordinator offers routine administrative and clerical support across HR operations, while overseeing the screening and onboarding processes for substitute and athletic personnel. Terms of Employment: Monday

  • Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 260 days per year The successful candidate must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and clearance by the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Essential Functions: Coordinates the screening and onboarding of all substitute staff Collaborates with the Athletic Director to hire and onboard athletic staff Ensures all new hires meet requirements for employment pursuant to district policies and state and federal laws Provides substitute staff with letters of reasonable assurance annually for compliance and assisting with processing unemployment claims Maintains personnel records of substitute staff and coaches in compliance with district policy and state records retention requirements; may assist the Human Resources Specialist with all personnel recordkeeping Coordinates CPR/First Aid training for all staff to ensure compliance with district policies Performs a large volume of data entry with speed and accuracy into the district's human resources information system, substitute management platform, employee training software, and personnel-related digital spreadsheets and databases Collaborates with the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and the Human Resources Specialist to provide annual paraeducator training and track paraeducator clock hour requirements and completed hours May assist the Human Resources Specialist with the hiring process of regular employees as needed Provides additional general clerical-level support to human resources, payroll, and benefits, including proofreading, copying, filing, scheduling, etc. as needed Posts required workplace posters in compliance with state and federal laws Serves as the district office back-up receptionist as needed May be asked to support the district's collective bargaining process Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous business office experience required Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a Human Resources role (recordkeeping, onboarding, benefits, or payroll) Experience in a K-12 educational setting KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Database system management and operation Concepts of correct grammar and punctuation Basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios Appropriate business telephone etiquette General knowledge of the functions of Human Resources Skills-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Demonstrated competency of computer-based office software applications Data entry into multiple database management systems Demonstrated competency in composing a variety of business documents using correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting, including letters, e-mails, forms, records, and memorandums Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while experiencing frequent interruptions and changing work priorities Ability to multi-task while maintaining a highly organized work environment Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters related to the district Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support labor/management Detail-oriented with a high degree of problem-solving ability Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population of applicants, staff, administrators, and the general public WORK ENVIRONMENT This job is performed in a standard office environment; some lifting (at least 35 pounds); carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required; significant fine finger dexterity is required. Salary: The salary range is $29.94-$35.07/hour based on experience Benefits: This position is eligible for a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their qualified dependents. Employer-paid basic life, long-term disability, and AD & D insurance are available to the employee only. Additional benefits include retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement and optional supplemental benefits including supplemental life, employee-paid long-term disability, FSA, DCAP, and deferred compensation. Paid leave benefits include five (5) days of paid vacation after successful completion of probation (60 days) with additional days earned annually based on district longevity; two (2) days of personal leave and twelve (12) days of sick leave per school year, pro-rated base on the employee's hire date. Twelve (12) paid holidays include: Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day following Thanksgiving Day, the day preceding Christmas, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth and July 4th.
