Job description
Oversees the administration of all consumer and real estate credit activities, including direct and indirect consumer loans, mortgage loans, credit cards, and other lending products. Keeps abreast of current trends, economic, financial, and regulatory developments. Manages workflow efficiencies and high productivity to provide excellent service levels to the frontlines and the general membership.
Develops, recommends, and implements strategies, policies, procedures, and training programs for the credit union's consumer and mortgage lending operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage staff, workflow and productivity of the department (staffing, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, mentoring, career pathing, disciplining, training, equipping). Develop and implement consumer and mortgage loan products, policies, guidelines and procedures, in meeting our members’ needs. Manage and work with staff in providing Consumer and Mortgage related credit decisions in accordance with Credit Union underwriting guidelines.
Continually seek to develop and implement departmental initiatives to increase operational efficiencies and effectiveness. Coordinate training to develop branch and departmental employees and to assure proper dissemination of program and compliance rules and regulations Actively meet with direct reports to keep them informed and to build esprit de corps within the department.
Provide oversight and monitors productivity, credit quality, guideline exceptions, authorizations, etc. Participate in and respond to audits and examinations, all related inquiries, requests, and report findings for the department. Ensure the completion and quality of consumer and mortgage loan documentation (including Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data) is maintained for the safety and legal requirements of the Credit Union.
Recommend salary adjustments, lending authority, promotions, disciplinary actions, discharges, and other personnel related needs, actions, or activities. Keep abreast of current loan programs, lending trends, and changes in the secondary market guidelines and regulations Responsible for assisting in marketing campaigns to expand and/or preserve the loan portfolio in an effort to meet or exceed lending goals and initiatives.
Maintain an active Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number. Perform other duties as assigned. & Pay The expected pay range for VP
- Consumer and Real Estate is $127,266.88 to $159,083.60 per year. This pay reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role based on typical qualifications and market data. Offered pay may vary depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
