WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE This job contributes to Evolution Fresh success by supervising day-to-day operations in quality assurance to support Evolution Fresh roasting plant business objectives. JOB DUTIES: Leadership – Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together : Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company Planning and Execution – Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results : Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives Prepares, communicates, and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization Business Requirements – Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities: Anticipates, recognizes, and assesses situations quickly and organizes resources to take appropriate action Collaborates with engineers, suppliers, contracts, and plant members to ensure customer needs are met Controls operating costs within budgets Develops and maintains plant preventive maintenance programs Ensures compliance with government regulatory agencies Leads efforts to upgrade facility for efficiency, safety, and reliability Leads projects involving installation, modification, or renovation of equipment Manages repairs and supplies, purchases, and budgets Responsible for the management and/or implementation of food safety, legality, and quality programs Member Development & Team Building – Providing team members with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams: Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews Ensures team members adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements Oversees training and development of team members directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members to achieve business, and customer results WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Team-building skills Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to solve complex problems and follow through to solution Ability to provide leadership with the ability to coach and mentor team members Apply analytical and quantitatively skills Ability to build relationships Proficient in safety procedures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (21 CFR 117) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with BRC or SQF certification schemes. Demonstrated ability to build, support, and drive a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, including autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, focused improvement, and early equipment management Working knowledge of reliability practices, including predictive maintenance (vibration, thermography, oil analysis), root cause failure analysis, and CMMS utilization Stays on top of automation and autonomous technology trends (robotics, Industry 4.0, IIoT, condition monitoring) and evaluates their application to plant operations Proven people leader with experience in performance management: setting expectations, coaching, delivering candid feedback, and holding team members accountable Ability to cultivate and foster an inclusive, positive, and engaged work environment and culture Data-driven approach to managing maintenance KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and planned vs. unplanned downtime MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Leadership Competencies Setting direction by establishing and communicating a compelling and inspired vision that creates a competitive winning strategies and plans, ensures department strategies are aligned with company strategies. Must be able to work in environmental exposure including, but not limited to, freezer and noisy, cold, wet, or humid conditions of 34°F or below. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic, and/or caustic chemicals. Occasional material exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in developing and leading plant-specific quality, customer service and cost optimization programs. Consumer products or food company and plant experience, either technical or production. Managing and developing others. Managing budgets. TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification; Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) a plus.
