****POSITION SUMMARY: **** The Strategic Development Executive, Commercial (SDE) is a strategic, consultative sales professional responsible for driving new business development, prospecting, and cultivating sales within selected corporate, national or enterprise-wide accounts. The SDE serves as the primary contact for developing new customer relationships and negotiating, securing and activating program purchase commitments at established price levels. The SDE acts as a visionary for the customer and uses business acumen to identify unique solutions from the FedEx Office suite of products and services that match the customers’ business objectives. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive)
- Possess an inherent willingness to operate under self-imposed timelines and objectives that will enable strategic customer wins in a rapidly changing environment
- Successfully win new customers and activate customer revenue streams
- Possess an understanding of the strategic competitive landscape and prospective customer needs in order to effectively position FedEx Office solutions within an account
- Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting to close and implementation
- Build and execute on a territory plan and sales methodology to ensure development of a long term selling strategy that will deliver incremental customer wins and corresponding revenue
- Attain a deep understanding of a prospect customer’s needs and the business drivers creating those needs and then link resolution of those requirements to FXO solutions
- Use deep financial and operational knowledge of FXO’s business model to craft compelling descriptions of FXO’s value proposition versus that of the competition
- Develop account penetration strategies for each assigned target and drive the revenue generation strategy through the first year post contract signature
- Responsible for building effective partnerships within sales and cross functionally
- Collaborate within Sales to successfully transition the customer for ongoing management and support per guidelines
- Collaborate with internal support and solution experts to demonstrate FXO capabilities as required
- Collaborate cross functionally across FXO teams (i.e., Operations, Pricing, Product, Marketing) in order to optimize business performance and sales effectiveness
- Develop the customer strategy (be nimble and quickly adjust based on new learnings) and then lead cross-functional discussions to ensure proper collaboration and buy-in across key functions; required to ensure successful customer wins that are flawlessly implemented
- Utilize the extensive FedEx sponsorship programs to host key clients and strengthen customer relationships as appropriate
- Maximize the FedEx value delivered to each and every customer by working cross functionally within FXO, Services and the other FedEx Operating companies
- Act in concert with FedEx Office values and encourage team members to do so as well

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years outside sales experience, selling business to business products or services, preferred
- 3+ years experience and demonstrated ability to penetrate new accounts and develop new opportunities in those accounts.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to meet business and program goals
- Excellent time management skills to include prioritization of tasks, communication, execution to meet established deadlines
- Must be able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills
- Experience building and working with cross functional partners (HR, Talent Management, Finance, Technology)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
- For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
