Registered Nurse

Your Opportunity: Unit 29 is a 32-bed in-patient unit that covers the following surgical focuses General surgery, Colorectal, Upper GI, Gynecology, and Breast-hernia-thyroid surgery. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides a professional, caring and comprehensive approach to the surgical and medical patient.

The RN provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients and families for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, illness and safety prevention. This unit uses the Co. Act collaborative model of care. Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being.

In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support

• Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years surgical nursing experience within the last 3 years required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of Co. Act and collaborative care in the acute care setting. Compliance with the AHS Hand Hygiene policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the following surgical areas is preferred: General surgery, Colorectal, Upper GI, Gynecology, and Breast-hernia-thyroid surgery. Nurses with a final focus on Unit 29, will be given consideration.
