Description: Coordinator of Educator Support & Effectiveness General Definition of Work The Coordinator of Educator Support and Effectiveness, under limited supervision, performs advanced professional work coordinating, supporting, and monitoring district teacher support and evaluation processes. The coordinator provides guidance and technical assistance to administrators and educators regarding evaluation requirements, procedures, timelines, documentation, and applicable district and state policies.
The position requires knowledge of applicable state and district evaluation requirements, strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential personnel information appropriately. The coordinator performs advanced professional work in support of the district's human resources and educator development functions and implements Board of Education policies and procedures related to teacher support and evaluation under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Academic Officer.

Salary/Status Base $78, 426 / Board Approved Salary Schedule/Full-time, 12 months Reports To Chief HR Officer/ Chief Academic Officer Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Darlington County School District. Darlington County School District reserves the right to require you to work at other places or places as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the Expanded Program for Assisting, Developing, and Evaluating Professional Teaching (ADEPT) in accordance with state regulations. Plan, coordinate, and supervise the district's support staff evaluation process. Coordinate data entry into SC Lead in compliance with Department of Education evaluation procedures.
Prepare and conduct orientations for teachers undergoing summative, formative, and special area evaluations. Assist in developing and monitoring teacher support plans and improvement plans for teachers and classified staff. Align evaluation goals with district goals in coordination with the curriculum department. Visit schools and classrooms to monitor instructional practices and assess their effect on student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
Plan, coordinate, and schedule the district induction program (Project TEACH) in conjunction with Teaching and Learning, and track participation of induction teachers. Recruit and train mentors to maintain a pool of varied and available teacher mentors. Conduct SCTS 4.0 evaluation training annually. Train teachers on Goals-Based Evaluation (GBE) and Student Learning Objectives (SLO).
Ensure evaluation records are in place to support teaching certificate advancement. Report ADEPT history and employment status to the SCDE annually. Assist in developing annual contract and work agreement recommendations and renewals. Communicate with supervisors, evaluation teams, teachers, mentors, and building administrators about the ADEPT process, and maintain positive working relationships through an inclusive, professional approach.
Participate in professional development workshops and leadership training. Report all relative data to Human Resources monthly Manage, monitor and track professional development credits Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrate working knowledge of school funding, position control, and allotments. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of county and school board policies, procedures, and standards related to school systems. Demonstrate knowledge of Human Resources information systems and related software applications. Demonstrate the ability to learn and use specialized tools, equipment, and software related to needs.
Demonstrate the ability to implement local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures in daily business operations. Demonstrate the ability to develop and monitor a budget. Demonstrate the ability to prepare, analyze, interpret, and validate reports and data. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrate the ability to reason, make sound judgments, and solve problems effectively. Demonstrate the ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress. Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school system business and employee information. Demonstrate the ability to develop charts, graphs, reports, and records related to school planning, strategy, and decision-making.
Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgment. Demonstrate the ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor, and evaluate new and existing programs. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing team environment.
Education and Experience
Master's degree in education or an equivalent area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. School Administration experience preferred Depth of knowledge of effective teaching and the ability to accurately assess student growth Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
