Power Electronics Engineer

Seattle, Washington, United StatesFull-timePosted Sep 16, 2026

Job description

EPG is currently seeking a Power Electronics Engineer for one of our partners that is an established high-voltage battery and power-electronics company, bringing technology proven in demanding, high-reliability applications to a new backup-power product for AI data centers. In this position, you will own the 800V power stage from architecture through production and lead the power-electronics effort on a clean-sheet product.

Responsibilities

topology, SiC/GaN device selection, and switching strategy at data center power levels. Design control loops for battery charging, bus-voltage regulation, and grid-interactive / UPS modes. Own the converter-to-battery-to-rack power interface. Drive compliance to relevant power and interconnection standards. Lead the power-electronics work stream as the technical anchor.

Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering. 7+ years of power electronics design. High-voltage (600V+) converter design taken from concept to production. Bidirectional converter experience (charger/inverter). SiC/GaN device experience with thermal and EMI design. This role is onsite in the Pacific Northwest. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship (US Persons only, export-control requirement).

Preferred Qualifications

EV traction inverter experience, especially 800V. Grid-tied or UPS inverter experience for stationary storage. Data center power standards and utility interconnection familiarity. Clean-sheet / new product line experience.

Benefits

eligible for an annual performance-based bonus (typically around 7 to 8% at this level), awarded on performance after you join. Equity: a company stock option program is planned, with leadership committed to rolling it out by the end of the year. Health coverage: approximately 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.

Retirement: roughly 9% 401(k) match. Location advantage: based in Everett, WA, with no Washington state income tax. The opportunity: join a well-funded, roughly 100-person company moving like a startup, building a clean-sheet 800V product from concept to production, where your work ships rather than sits on a shelf.
